ZIP Stat is an advanced web site counter, written in PHP and released under the GPL. Dispite that the majority of the code is written in english, the actual user interface is only available in danish. Making it possible to translate the whole user interface is one of the major todo items in the project. ZIP Stat is currently running as a free service on zipstat.dk and is developed by Simon Mikkelsen.

If you want to join The ZIP Stat Project, then create an account at SourceForge.net and contact the administrator of this project. If you want to join The ZIP Stat Project, you must fultil theese requerments: You must read english fairly good, and write it so other people can understand you. You must be familiar with the programming and/or spoken languages you shall usein your development. For most programming tasks you must know how to use classes and object oriented programming. You may also have to know how to create a decent class structure. You must have used CVS before. If you don't have to commit (submit) your work very often, you may agree with another developer to let him/her commit your work, so you don't have to use CVS.

You can just download ZIP Stat, but the install is not so easy. ZIP Stat uses a database, but the actual script to create that is not bundled untill the next release. Untill then you can download it separately. When you have used that script to crate your MySQL database, edit the file Stier.php. Spend 15 minutes reading the file, and look for the following: The domain of the web site, paths to ZIP Stat on the web, paths the ZIP Stat in the file system, database and database login information. There is a lot of other stuff, but usually you shouldn't change that. In the future the file will be cleaned up, and only the database information should be given. The rest will be auto detected.
